Why are registered democrats leaving the party (2% in a recent month) at an alarming pace?

Is it because they don't want to be ociated with Bill and Hilary, Marion Barry, Al Gore, Barney Frank, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, the OJ jury, Nancy Pelosi and the Pennsylvania 'bonusgate' legislators?
