I have a teacher that goes over-board with rules and won't leave us alone...what do I do?

my school decided to revise all the rules lately wich is ok by me since they're pretty universal rules such as, they banned the "F" word (obvious), no thongs or undies hangin out of your pants (also obviouis), and no using hurtful slang (by that they mean gay, retarded, stuff like that), no eating in the clroom...that's the one that gets to me but w/e right. at the end of the day during homeroom the school goes to the gym and plays dodge ball which my friends and I hate so we got permission to sit and chat in a nerby hallway. I was eating a granola bar and my friend was drinking sobe life water (THAT HE GOT FROM A SCHOOL VENDING MACHINE!!) and a teacher came up to us and told us we cant eat and drink out in the hallways and were like "um the rule is no food or drink in the cl it doesnt say anything about the halls" and she freaked out. she took my granola bar :( can she do that? the handbook says nothing about eating in the halls.
